Pesky Parasites

Flea, Tick & Worm Prevention at The Aces.Vet

Parasites like fleas, ticks, and worms may be small but the problems they cause can be serious. At The Aces.Vet, we offer safe, effective treatments and prevention plans to keep your pets healthy, comfortable, and parasite-free all year round.

Why Parasite Prevention Matters

Fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms don’t just cause irritation, they can lead to infections, disease transmission and serious health issues if left untreated.

Prevention is simple, affordable, and far better than a cure.

Fleas

Fleas are fast reproducing parasites that feed on your pet’s blood, causing itching, skin irritation, and allergic reactions. They can quickly spread through your home and may also transmit tapeworms. Prevention is far easier than treating a full infestation.

Lungworm (Dogs)

Lungworm is a serious parasite picked up from slugs and snails, even through play or licking. It can cause coughing, weight loss, bleeding problems and can be fatal if untreated. Not all wormers cover lungworm but we’ll make sure yours does.

Ticks

Ticks latch onto pets during walks or time outdoors, feeding on blood and potentially spreading diseases like Lyme. Bites can become sore or infected, and ticks can affect humans too. Regular protection is vital, especially in rural or wooded areas.

Mites & Lice (Small Pets)

Mites and lice are common in rabbits and small furries, leading to itchy skin, crusting, and hair loss. Some can trigger ear issues or mange. We offer safe, species appropriate treatments to relieve symptoms quickly and gently.

Roundworms & Tapeworms

Worms often live undetected in the gut, causing bloating, weight loss, or changes in appetite. They’re especially common in puppies and kittens. Some types can pose risks to people, so routine worming helps keep both pets and families safe.
